天美传媒鈥檚 Dr Neil Vaughan is to receive a prestigious award from the including a small grant for early career academics.
Neil was聽announced as one of forty winners of the聽international ACU Early Careers聽Academic Grant. Now it its third year, the scheme was initially聽launched to mark the centenary of the world鈥檚 first, and oldest, international network of universities,聽and was founded to promote and support excellence in higher education.
With an emphasis on enabling those in the early stages of their聽careers to travel to Commonwealth countries, the competition helps academics to fully聽establish themselves in their fields. 天美传媒 is one of over five hundred members of the Association, spread over fifty countries across the world.
As聽a post-doctoral researcher in BU鈥檚 Faculty of Science & Technology,聽Neil's research聽focusses on computer-based graphics and visualisation including working on new technology to make epidurals safer for women in childbirth.聽His work聽has been profiled by the likes of NHS Grapevine, The Engineer and Politics Today. He has won an IET scholarship and Innovation Awards and was a finalist for the UK Patient Safety Awards. In 2014, he in the Transforming Society category.
Commenting on the achievement, Neil said, "This is great news to be selected as recipient of the聽ACA Early Careers Academic Grant聽out of 170 applicants from all around the Commonwealth."
