The sender is appearing as [email protected] (or .com) and the email subject as 鈥楥omplete Your Yearbook account.鈥� and directs recipients to complete a form.聽
BU has not given this company permission to contact our students and it is likely there is no actual product available.
The form requires you to submit a significant amount of personal information. This includes your mobile number, home address, your private and university email addresses, and your bank details.
There are and it is recommended that you don鈥檛 give out your personal information unless you have initiated the contact or know and trust the company you are dealing with.
You should always consider who is collecting the information and why it鈥檚 necessary, what will be done with it and what are the potential consequences if your personal information is misused. As a rule, you also shouldn鈥檛 click on any email links or open/download files unless you鈥檝e requested the email and know the sender.
Please remain vigilant online and carefully consider who you are giving your personal information and bank details to.
