University of Khartoum

The roots of the University of Khartoum (U of K) return to 1898 once Lord of Khartoum projected start a school in memory of General Gordon. Funds for the projected school were raised by non-public subscription, and therefore the plans for the building were drawn by the Khedives designer, Fabricus authority. The new school, named the Gordon Memorial school, was formally opened in 1902, though it had been not till 1903 that the buildings were completed and therefore the 1st batch of primary level students were admitted. the faculty but, wasneer supposed to be alone a elementary school. A secondary stratum was additional in 1905 for the aim of coachingassistant engineers and land surveyors, and in 1906 a four year course for the coaching of elementary school lecturers was established.
