Biography
With a passion for forward thinking integrative healthcare and wellness collaborations, Wendy Weissner founded Balanced Rock Wellness and practices Ayurveda in the state of Maine. She has co-authored over 30 peer-reviewed journal articles evaluating the safety and efficacy of alternative therapies, and is expertly familiar with the extensive clinical research conducted on herbs and supplements. Wendy received her Bachelor’s degree in Cognitive Neuroscience from Hampshire College, and then pursued training in Herbal Studies from the Boston School of Herbal Studies (2004). She also has received yoga training from Mount Madonna in 2005 and Ayurvedic training from the California College of Ayurveda. She is a member of the National Ayurvedic Medical Association as well as a volunteer for Erowid, a psychoactive plant database. An avid walker, Wendy has hiked from Georgia to Maine on the Appalachian Trail.
Research Interest
Research interest is understanding addiction from the perspective of Ayurveda, and how herbal medicine and sensory therapies can treat this.
