Abstract
This study explores the landscape of integrated care approaches in psychosomatic medicine, encompassing diverse disciplines such as medical psychology, general hospital psychiatry, and somatic specialties. It highlights examples of integrated care models across various healthcare settings, emphasizing the importance of collaborative, multi-disciplinary interventions tailored to the complexity of psychosomatic conditions. Despite obstacles such as fragmented healthcare systems and stigma, integrated care offers numerous benefits, including improved patient outcomes and enhanced provider communication. Strategies to overcome these challenges include enhancing education, fostering interprofessional collaboration, and incentivizing integrated care models. By embracing holistic approaches to patient care, healthcare systems can strive towards more effective management of psychosomatic conditions, ultimately enhancing patient well-being and satisfaction.
