Abstract
Major progress in cancer chemotherapy requires new drugs to eradicate the entire neoplastic diseases in human being. Finding of novel structure leads that may be of use in designing new, potent, selective, and less toxic anticancer agents remains a major challenge for medicinal chemistry researchers. Random screening of natural products and synthetics has been the source of new leads in approaches to drug discovery. In our ongoing search for the new potential ant tumor agents, we therefore aimed to develop a series of heterocyclic compounds with pharmaceutical interest. Many planar heteroaromatic derivatives have shown anti-proliferative activity in vitro and some of them are important anticancer drugs. Some of these types of compounds have the thiophene, thiazole, pyridine and hydrazide-hydrazones nucleus which represent structural component of a large number of biologically active natural and unnatural compounds. Such finding encourage us to synthesis a series of heterocyclic compounds incorporated thiophene, thiazole, pyrazole nucleous together with the anti-tumor evaluation of the newly synthetic products.
