Abstract
Scleral lenses are widely used for therapeutic purposes. This case report aims to emphasize the advantages of utilizing scleral lenses as a non-surgical management option and presents evidence of their effectiveness in improving UCVA from 2/60 to 6/12 and reducing the corneal neovascularization, hazy interface in a patient with partial LSCD secondary to chemical injury. This case report highlights the potential of the scleral lens if given with an ideal fit and close monitoring for LSCD caused by chemical injuries.Biography
Ms. Madhumathi Subramanian BS.OPT, FCL, FIACLE, FSLS holds the position of Deputy Manager in the Department of Contact Lens at Sankara Nethralaya. In addition to her role as a specialty contact lens practitioner, she also serves as an Associate Professor at the Elite School of Optometry and the Sankara Nethralaya Academy (TSNA), having 18years of experience. She completed her Bachelors in optometry from the Elite School of Optometry and has completed her Fellowship in Contact Lens from the Sankara Nethralaya Academy along with certifications in specialty areas such FIACLE (Fellow of the International Association of Contact Lens Educators), and FSLS (Fellow of the Scleral lens Society) .
